Are you a Registered Nurse, Midwife or Allied Health Professional with a passion for research, innovation and improving patient care? This is an exciting opportunity to join the Agile Research Delivery Team, delivering National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Portfolio studies that bring cutting-edge research closer to the people of the Isle of Wight. As a Research Delivery Practitioner, you will play a vital role in ensuring island residents have the opportunity to take part in high-quality health and care research. Working across a variety of clinical and community settings, you'll support the safe and effective delivery of research studies from participant identification and recruitment through to follow-up and data collection. This is a varied, autonomous and collaborative role where no two days are the same. You'll work alongside multidisciplinary teams, researchers, community partners and patients to make research accessible, inclusive and meaningful for our local population. You'll also contribute to developing research capability across the Island, helping to ensure more people can benefit from innovations in healthcare. - Identifying, recruiting and obtaining informed consent from participants for research studies.
- Delivering research interventions and conducting participant assessments, follow-up visits and data collection.
- Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary clinical teams, researchers and partner organisations to embed research into routine care.
- Building relationships with local communities to improve awareness of, and access to, research opportunities, particularly for underserved populations.
- Maintaining accurate research documentation and ensuring compliance with research protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Supporting service development, quality improvement initiatives and the expansion of research capability across the Isle of Wight.
- Contributing to the leadership and development of research delivery, sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues where appropriate.
- Travelling across the Isle of Wight and, when required, to the mainland for regional meetings, training and collaborative research activities.
Education and Qualifications
Essential
- Educated to degree level in science or health related discipline or in another field with experience of research trials or equivalent relevant experience/training and educated or working towards postgraduate degree level
- Registered Nurse, Midwife or AHP on relevant part of the professional register (NMC, HCPC)
- Evidence of ongoing professional development
- Has completed or is undertaking a course in management / leadership
Essential
- Leadership management experience in a health care setting
- Knowledge of the governance and legislative framework for conducting clinical research studies, including UK Policy Framework for Health and Care Research, UK Clinical Trials Regulations
- Knowledge of the clinical trial and health and care research lifecycle including experience of the set up of clinical research studies in a health and care setting
- Experience of the care of patients/participants enrolled in research studies
- Knowledge and experience of data interpretation, verification and reporting to local and national centres
