Amgen seeks an experienced medical affairs leader to oversee cardiometabolic therapeutic area strategy, managing medical teams and cross-functional collaborations across in-line and pipeline products in the UK and Ireland affiliate.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute therapeutic area medical strategies including annual planning, goal-setting, and lifecycle management
- Provide strategic oversight of lifecycle management across portfolio with cross-functional collaboration
- Set scientific engagement strategy with stakeholders to communicate unmet need and product value
- Line manage medical advisors, scientific communications colleagues, and MSLs within therapy area
- Serve as senior business unit leadership team member and country ambassador to Global TA teams
Requirements
- Medical degree with full GMC registration
- Extensive progressive Medical Affairs experience with proven strategic leadership track record
- Demonstrated ability to build and inspire high-performing teams across multiple products
- Experience leading medical strategy through product lifecycle including launch execution
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical capabilities and business acumen with brand and reimbursement knowledge
- Cardiovascular disease, diabetes or obesity experience in NHS environment strongly preferred
- Proven final ABPI Medical Signatory experience
