Support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs by helping them build confidence, resilience, and positive engagement with learning!

GSL Education are hiring a committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to join schools in Walsall . The Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA), will work closely with pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support, helping them succeed in a structured and nurturing educational environment.

Main Duties of SEMH TA:

* Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs.
* Support behaviour management and implement de-escalation strategies.
* Encourage emotional regulation, confidence, and positive behaviour.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams.
* Assist students in engaging with classroom activities and routines.
* Maintain safeguarding procedures and contribute to a safe environment.

Requirements:

* Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs.
* Calm, patient, and resilient approach.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
* Ability to manage challenging situations effectively.
* Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
