Construction (Non-Contentious) | Senior/Principal Associate | International Law Firm | Birmingham/hybrid BCL Legal is delighted to be working exclusively with a leading international law firm in its search for a Senior or Principal Associate to join its highly regarded non-contentious Construction & Engineering team. This is a rare opportunity to take on complex and high-profile project work within a top-tier practice, with flexibility to be based at the firm's Birmingham office. The team is particularly known for its work across the energy and infrastructure sectors, handling major development projects for clients across the globe. The Role As a Senior or Principal Associate in this nationally recognised construction team, you will:

• Act for a wide range of national and international clients on large-scale energy, infrastructure, and development projects.
• Deliver strategic, commercially focused legal advice on all aspects of project procurement and contract negotiation.
• Work extensively with industry-standard contracts, particularly NEC and FIDIC, across a variety of sectors.
• Support and mentor junior lawyers, playing a key role in team development and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues across the firm's national and international network, as well as with other practice groups.
• Take an active role in business development, helping to grow and shape the team's presence in target markets.

About You To be considered for this role, you will have:

• 4-7 years' PQE at Senior Associate level or 7+ years' PQE at the Principal Associate level in non-contentious construction law.
• Proven experience advising on high-value infrastructure or energy projects, ideally involving NEC and FIDIC contracts.
• Strong drafting skills, excellent commercial awareness, and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
• A collaborative mindset and a genuine interest in coaching and mentoring others.
• A strong sense of ownership, with the drive to develop your practice and support wider team growth.
• Business development experience and the confidence to engage with clients and prospects.
