Stores Operative

Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour

Job Type: Ongoing Position

Shift Pattern: Rotating Weekly Shifts

• Week 1: Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 2:00pm
• Week 2: Monday to Friday, 2:00pm – 10:00pm

Pertemps is currently recruiting for a reliable and motivated Stores Operative to join a busy and well-established operation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous warehouse or stores experience who is looking for a long-term, ongoing role within a supportive and professional working environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the stores department, supporting the movement, control, and accurate recording of stock while maintaining high standards of organisation and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities

• Receiving, checking, and processing incoming deliveries
• Managing goods-in and goods-out activities accurately and efficiently
• Moving stock safely around the warehouse and stores areas using pallet trucks
• Picking, packing, and preparing orders for dispatch
• Maintaining accurate stock records and inventory levels
• Using CRM and stock management systems to log products and stock movements
• Updating records and reports using Microsoft Office applications
• Conducting routine stock checks and assisting with inventory control
• Ensuring all work is carried out in line with company procedures and health and safety requirements
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient stores environment

Skills and Experience Required

• Previous experience working within a stores, warehouse, logistics, or stock control environment
• Strong knowledge of goods-in and goods-out procedures
• Experience using pallet trucks
• Confident computer user with experience of CRM, stock management, or warehouse management systems
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling stock and completing documentation
• Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
