The Opportunity
Amey Engineering teams improve the environment and create sustainable flooding solutions across the UK, by working in partnership with a range of clients, providing consultancy design services for Local Authorities, Strategic and Local transport providers and organisations delivering National Infrastructure. We make our towns and cities better places to live by improving connectivity, flood resilience, sustainability and quality of life.
The role
Due to an increased workload, we are looking to recruit Flooding Modeller / Engineer. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within the Flooding and Water Management team in Scotland, providing effective support and assistance to the modellers and team leaders on a variety of flood schemes. As a Flood Modeller / Engineer at Amey, you’ll see your work from early design to the very end result, and every project will be different from the last. You’ll feel inspired to challenge yourself, as well as your colleagues. You’ll have the opportunity to thrive and we’ll help you shape your career whether through further qualification, learning new skills, or whatever else you need to achieve your ambitions.
- Undertake preliminary and detailed modelling and design of Flood Management projects,
- Prepare modelling reports including GIS mapping, and contract specifications and bills of quantities for projects
- Provide supervision and management of contracts for both minor and major projects,
- Undertake feasibility, outline and detailed design studies,
- Contribute to the development of tender documents for small and large scale procurements,
- Undertake work relating to the programme management of Flood Management Improvement Schemes, and
- Procure surveys and other field works.
What you will bring to us
- Have a Bachelors or Masters degree in an appropriate subject,
- Post qualification experience in the feasibility, design, supervision and overall management of flood management projects,
- Have experience in Infoworks ICM, FloodModeller or HecRas and hydological modelling techniques
