The Senior Freight Forwarder will take ownership of managing road freight shipments from start to finish, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective movement of general cargo across domestic and international networks. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing full-cycle road freight operations for UK and European general cargo movements.
- Planning and coordinating FTL and LTL shipments.
- Building strong relationships with customers, carriers and subcontractors.
- Negotiating rates and securing transport capacity.
- Monitoring shipments and proactively managing service issues.
- Preparing and checking all relevant transport documentation.
- Ensuring compliance with customs, transport and industry regulations.
- Providing accurate quotations and supporting business development activity.
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the operations team.
- Maintaining high levels of customer service and communication throughout the shipment lifecycle.
- Working closely with internal departments to ensure operational efficiency and service delivery.
