What you'll do

As a Customer Service Apprentice, you'll gain experience across a range of customer-facing roles, including:

• Station Operations
• Customer Host
• Gateline
• Ticket Office
• Revenue Protection

Throughout the programme, you'll receive hands-on training, work alongside experienced colleagues, and be supported by our learning partners to develop the skills and confidence you need to succeed.

We're currently finalising the locations for our 2027 Customer Service Apprenticeship . Previous apprentices have been based at:

• London Paddington
• Reading
• Oxford
• Maidenhead
• Didcot Parkway
• Swindon
• Gloucester
• Bristol
• Cardiff
• Exeter St Davids
• Newton Abbot
• Plymouth
• Truro

What we're looking for

To apply, you'll need to:

• Be 16 or over when the apprenticeship starts.
• Live within approximately one hour's travel of your chosen location.
• Have GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent Level 1 qualifications or predicted grades).

Working hours

This apprenticeship is based on a 35-hour working week , with shifts scheduled between 7:00am and 8:00pm .

As part of a customer-facing railway operation, you'll experience a variety of shifts and working patterns, giving you valuable experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
