Nursery Nurse

We are seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, and experienced Nursery Nurse to join our vibrant early years team in a school nursery setting in Wigan. Working with children aged 0-5 years, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality early years education and care in line with the EYFS framework, supporting children's development in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, caring, stimulating environment that promotes learning through play and supports all areas of child development.

• Observe, assess, and record children's progress, contributing to individual learning plans and reporting to parents and senior staff.

• Support the planning and delivery of age-appropriate, engaging activities linked to the EYFS.

• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing through consistent, trauma-informed approaches.

• Establish warm and responsive relationships with children and their families.

• Ensure all safeguarding and health & safety procedures are followed at all times.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues, SEN specialists, and external professionals to support children with additional needs.

Requirements

• Level 2/3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years Education (e.g., CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent).

• Experience working in a nursery or early years school setting (0-5 years preferred).

• Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

• A warm, empathetic, and professional approach to children and families.

Desirable

• Paediatric First Aid certificate.

• Knowledge of SEND strategies in early years.

• Experience in a school-based nursery environment.
