The Service Manager is the Registered Manager for their designated School Age Care services. The role holds full accountability for the safe, compliant, and effective operation of those services including staffing, safeguarding, quality assurance, admissions, and day-to-day operational leadership.
The Service Manager operates supernumerary. They are not expected to cover staff ratios. They are expected to be present, visible, and actively engaged across their services in a purposeful way. Care inspectors will ask the Registered Manager about individual children by name. A named, documented senior lead is in place and briefed within each site to hold day-to-day responsibility when the manager is at another site.

Qualification requirements: SVQ3/HND/SVQ4, PVG registration, SSSC registration required. At least 2 years experience within an out of school care setting or a leadership position is preferred.
