Inclusion Mentor (Science Specialist)
Locations: Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Worcestershire, Coventry and Solihull
£25.00 to £43.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience
Tired of teaching to the middle? Join a team where you can change one life at a time.
Are you a Science specialist who believes that education should be built on relationships, not just results?
Do you want the freedom to personalise learning, support vulnerable young people to succeed, and be part of a team that is shaping the future of SEND and inclusive education?
Bright Outcomes is seeking passionate, creative and compassionate Science specialists to join our growing team of trauma-informed Inclusion Mentors, supporting children and young people aged 4 to 25 across the Midlands.
Whether your background is Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Combined Science , we would love to hear from you.
This is not a traditional teaching role.
Many of the learners we support have experienced significant barriers to education, including SEND, anxiety, emotionally based school avoidance, exclusion and school-based trauma. Success is measured not only through qualifications, but through rebuilding confidence, developing trust, strengthening relationships and helping young people re-engage with learning.
Because of the unique nature of our work, our staff are known as Inclusion Mentors rather than traditional teaching staff. We believe that meaningful relationships are the foundation of successful learning.
This is a peripatetic role involving travel to home and community settings, delivering highly personalised Science provision tailored to individual learner needs. Working within our home-based alternative provision and approved exam centre, you will support young people to achieve qualifications whilst developing the confidence and skills needed for long-term success.
Alongside direct delivery, you will play an important role in strengthening Science provision across the organisation by sharing your expertise, supporting colleagues and contributing to innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
We are looking for someone who:
• Is a qualified and experienced Science teacher or specialist practitioner
• Has a specialism in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Combined Science
• Understands the impact of SEND, trauma and unmet needs on learning
• Builds strong, trusting relationships with children and young people
• Is adaptable, creative and solution-focused
• Enjoys working independently whilst being part of a supportive team
• Is committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable learners
• Shares our belief that every child deserves an education that works for them
Why join Bright Outcomes?
Bright Outcomes is a values-led organisation committed to inclusion, equity and improving life chances for vulnerable children and young people. We challenge traditional approaches where they no longer meet the needs of learners and work tirelessly to create positive, lasting change.
This role offers a unique opportunity not only to transform individual lives, but also to contribute to wider improvements in SEND and alternative provision through innovation, collaboration and sector leadership.
What we offer:
• Competitive hourly rate of £25.00 to £43.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience
• Company pension scheme
• 10% PPA time
• Mileage allowance for business travel
• Dedicated resources budget each half term
• Holiday pay
• Comprehensive induction and onboarding programme
• Ongoing training in SEND, trauma-informed practice and inclusion
• Regular supervision, mentoring and professional support
• Paid CPD time and continuous professional development opportunities
• Flexible working arrangements
• Informal dress code and a supportive, values-led culture
• Central headquarters in Leamington Spa with free parking
• Small caseloads and highly personalised teaching opportunities
• Opportunities to present at regional and national conferences
• The chance to contribute to sector-leading practice and influence SEND education nationally
• The opportunity to work alongside experienced SEND and inclusion professionals
A culture that values people
We believe that when staff feel valued, supported and empowered, they can make the greatest difference to the young people they serve. Our founder was recognised nationally as a 'Best Boss in Britain' award winner, reflecting our commitment to supportive leadership, professional growth and staff wellbeing.
You won't be doing this alone
Supporting vulnerable learners can be both rewarding and challenging. That's why every Inclusion Mentor receives regular supervision, ongoing training, access to specialist expertise and the support of an experienced multidisciplinary team committed to helping both staff and learners thrive.
More than a teaching role
At Bright Outcomes, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the wider SEND and inclusion sector through innovation, collaboration and thought leadership. From presenting at regional and national conferences to helping shape best practice, this is a role for professionals who want to make an impact beyond their individual caseload.
If you are looking for a role where relationships matter as much as results, where you can see the impact of your work every day, and where you can help shape the future of inclusive education, we would love to hear from you.
