Summary

We’re looking for a Junior IT Technician to help keep our tech running well and steadily make it better. It’s a surprisingly technical place: shared Windows workstations, staff MacBooks, a lot of label printers, and a factory our engineers have wired up with custom IoT — sensors and controllers watching the machines.

This isn’t a sit-and-wait support role. The heart of the job is projects, not a ticket queue, so when something breaks, you’ll fix it at the root so it doesn’t keep coming back. You’ll work closely with our Systems Architect, who’s mostly remote, learning the estate hands-on and taking on a real project from day one. We care more about how you think than what’s on your CV.

Who are we?

The Oxford Health Company is an award-winning contract manufacturing business specialising in the food supplement market. Since our incorporation in 2013, we’ve been recognised as one of the Times Top 100 Fastest-Growing Companies in 2023, with an impressive 58% average annual growth over the past three years. Our commitment to excellence has earned us numerous industry-specific accolades, including recent 2024 wins at the Oxfordshire Business Awards in both the Large Business and Green Award categories.

We are a dynamic, entrepreneurial team driven by a mission to become the UK’s leading Food Supplement Manufacturer, both in turnover and service quality. Our success is built on offering expert service and the industry's shortest lead times to new and medium-sized brands with high-value propositions.

Our headquarters and manufacturing facility are located in Bicester, with a second storage warehouse nearby. Since fitting out our state-of-the-art clean rooms and manufacturing facility in 2019, we have continued to invest in our infrastructure to better serve our customers and enhance operational efficiency.

What will you do?

  • Bringing the Macs under central management — setting up MDM so each MacBook arrives provisioned, secure and ready to go, with the right apps already on it.

  • Day-to-day network administration — learning the ropes with our Systems Architect on hand.

  • Trialling and speccing new kit with the teams — from badge-tap logins on shared machines to our beloved cheap USB label printers, tested on a bench first to make sure it actually works for the people using it.

  • Standardising the Windows workstations — a standard image and cold spares on the shelf, so a hardware failure means swapping in a replacement, not a rebuild.

  • Working on projects with our Systems Architect — you’ll do the hands-on legwork and feed back what you find. As you grow, you’ll take on more of the direction yourself.

How the role will grow

First few months. You’ll take on a real project early — the fastest way to learn the estate. You’ll also be the first person people message when something’s up: not a queue to sit on, but a great way to see how things really work. You’ll learn as you go, with someone experienced to lean on.

Working together. Mostly you just get on with it, but we like to stay in touch — a quick note on how it’s going, a snag, a win, a bit of chat. Nobody will hover asking if it’s ready. It’s how you stay part of the team while the Architect’s remote.

Where it can go. As you grow you’ll take on more, owning projects and steering their direction — that’s how the “junior” comes off the title. There’s room to pull the role toward what genuinely interests you: if the instrumented-factory side is your thing, there’s IoT and monitoring work with metrics in Grafana; if it’s networking, there’s VLAN segmentation and tightening our VPN access; there’s scope to bring AI deeper into how we work, too.

What We’re Looking For

  • Genuine curiosity about how things work — a home NAS, Plex server, Raspberry Pi or ESP32 project tells us more than a qualification ever could. If you’ve ever exposed something at home to the internet and stopped to think about how to do it safely, that’s exactly the thinking this job needs.

  • No qualifications required, and no fixed background — whether you’re early in your career, have a year or two of IT experience, or are changing careers entirely. Plenty of great people come to tech from other fields, bringing people skills from one life and a homelab habit from the other.

  • A “help them help themselves” instinct — happy to lend a hand, but focused on fixing things at the root so they don’t keep coming back.

  • Comfortable working independently day to day, with a habit of keeping in touch — a quick note on progress, snags and wins — since our Systems Architect is mostly remote.

  • Happy to lean on AI tools for debugging, documentation and learning new areas faster.

Why Join Us?

  • Precision Workspace
Located in Oxfordshire, you'll be working in a cutting edge facility designed for excellence.

  • Rewarding pay structure
You will receive a competitive salary, pension and healthcare benefits designed to reward and support you.

  • Seamless onboarding experience
With expert guidance, you’ll receive full support from day one, ensuring a smooth and successful start.

  • Enthusiastically pro-AI
You’ll have full access to AI tools and be actively encouraged to use them — for debugging, design, documentation and learning new areas faster. We’d rather hire someone who leans into that than someone who does everything the hard way.

  • Grow Professionally & Personally
Tailored development plans to support your growth and career progression

How to Apply

Send us a CV, or just a few paragraphs about yourself — we’d love to hear about something techy you’ve built or set up at home: what it is, how it works, and how you thought about doing it safely. That’ll tell us more than a formal cover letter ever could. Apply, or send any questions, to our People & Operations team at View email address on ourcompany.tohc.co.uk
