Protocol Education are working with a welcoming school in Ferryhill who are looking for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapy Graduate to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in an education setting while using the knowledge and skills developed during their Occupational Therapy degree. What you'll be doing Supporting pupils with a range of SEND, including autism, ADHD, sensory processing needs and physical needsHelping children develop fine motor skills, coordination and independenceSupporting pupils with sensory regulation and emotional wellbeingUsing practical and creative activities to encourage engagement and confidenceWorking closely with teachers, support staff and other professionalsBuilding positive relationships with pupils and helping them achieve their individual goalsProviding consistent, patient and encouraging support throughout the school day We're looking for someone who Has a degree in Occupational Therapy or is due to graduateHas a genuine passion for supporting children and young peopleIs patient, calm and empatheticUnderstands the importance of sensory needs and individualised supportCan communicate confidently and work well as part of a teamHas experience working with children through placements, volunteering or employment (desirable, but not essential) Why this role?
