Fantastic Independent Practice seeks Experienced Small Animal Vet - Bristol
£24.6 - £28.8 per hourEstimated
As a proudly independent practice, this hospital is looking for a new veterinary surgeon. Equipped with an extensive range of advanced diagnostic and surgical facilities, including CT, MRI, ultrasound, digital radiography, laparoscopic equipment and laser technology. Supported by a friendly, experienced and collaborative team, this is an excellent opportunity for a veterinary surgeon looking to join a progressive practice with access to outstanding facilities and a strong team culture.
The veterinary team currently works a four-day week, with a shared weekend rota of one in six weekends (Saturday and Sunday, 8:00am–4:00pm) and one in seven Saturday mornings (9:00am–1:00pm). Flexible working arrangements are welcomed, and can be considered for candidates who are happy to participate in the weekend and out-of-hours support rota.
Out-of-hours emergency provision is supported by a local referral practice. However, stable inpatients remain at this practice overnight under the care of the dedicated night nursing team, with veterinary support available on call if required. The on-call commitment is shared on a one-in-six rota and typically involves providing telephone advice, with attendance at the practice rarely necessary.
The practice consists of a well-equipped hospital in Bristol alongside four consultation-only satellite branches, all located within a 10–25 minute drive. Each veterinary surgeon is allocated to a branch for the day, consulting there during the morning before returning to the hospital to investigate cases, perform surgery and collaborate with colleagues. Afternoon consultations are then carried out back at the allocated branch. Wherever possible, branch locations are matched to the successful candidate's home location to minimise travel.
