Our company is looking for a Chartered Civil Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Input to and preparation of bids and proposals;
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior members of the team;
  • Mange delivery teams;
  • Act as Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) – Design;
  • Leading and assisting with the preparation of documentation relating to projects;
  • Help to develop the production of drawings, reports and specifications;
  • Becoming familiar and compliant with relevant Health, Safety and Welfare regulations and to promote the companies SHEW culture within your team;
  • Scope and supervise surveys;
  • Check and approval of technical work by the design team.

Requirements:

  • Proven ability to write accurate, clear, high quality reports in English;
  • Commercial awareness and an interest in the financial success of projects as well as engineering;
  • Previous delivery of projects through Network Rail Grip stages 1-3;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Chartered Member of the Institute of Civil Engineers or equivalent;
  • Experience in delivering and managing all stages of multi-disciplinary engineering projects from initial studies through to detailed design;
  • UK Driving Licence is desirable;
  • Engineering degree in a relevant discipline;
  • Management/consulting skills and knowledge are desirable;
  • Ability to respond to Project Manager and Client requests and meet challenging deadlines;
  • Acted as CRE (Design) for Rail Engineering projects;
  • Typically a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the rail sector;
  • Manage own and others time, ensuring deliverables to agreed deadlines and within budget;
  • Experience of working in the UK rail industry with good working knowledge of Network Rail Grip process / standards and approval processes;
  • PTS qualification desirable.
