Our company is looking for a Chartered Civil Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Input to and preparation of bids and proposals;
- Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior members of the team;
- Mange delivery teams;
- Act as Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) – Design;
- Leading and assisting with the preparation of documentation relating to projects;
- Help to develop the production of drawings, reports and specifications;
- Becoming familiar and compliant with relevant Health, Safety and Welfare regulations and to promote the companies SHEW culture within your team;
- Scope and supervise surveys;
- Check and approval of technical work by the design team.
Requirements:
- Proven ability to write accurate, clear, high quality reports in English;
- Commercial awareness and an interest in the financial success of projects as well as engineering;
- Previous delivery of projects through Network Rail Grip stages 1-3;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Chartered Member of the Institute of Civil Engineers or equivalent;
- Experience in delivering and managing all stages of multi-disciplinary engineering projects from initial studies through to detailed design;
- UK Driving Licence is desirable;
- Engineering degree in a relevant discipline;
- Management/consulting skills and knowledge are desirable;
- Ability to respond to Project Manager and Client requests and meet challenging deadlines;
- Acted as CRE (Design) for Rail Engineering projects;
- Typically a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the rail sector;
- Manage own and others time, ensuring deliverables to agreed deadlines and within budget;
- Experience of working in the UK rail industry with good working knowledge of Network Rail Grip process / standards and approval processes;
- PTS qualification desirable.
