Our company is looking for a Design Engineer (Highway Maintenance) to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Consult with a range of internal and external stakeholders at all stages of a scheme;
- Assist in the training and development of our trainee and graduate engineers;
- Ensure a consistent quality of work in the design of schemes, ensuring compliance with Management System processes.
Requirements:
- Proficient in using AutoCad for highway design;
- Chartered Member or working towards being a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers or equivalent professional qualification (desirable);
- Working knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges/Specification for Highway Works relating to the design of local authority highway schemes;
- Successful track record of delivering highway resurfacing and maintenance schemes, as part of a team of professional engineers;
- A relevant Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent, or Foundation Degree/HNC/HND together with sufficient post qualification experience;
- Site based highways experience to provide sufficient understanding of buildability, traffic management and construction programming (desirable);
- Working knowledge of Pavement Investigation Methods and Pavement Material Specification;
- Working knowledge of the design & delivery of highway infrastructure projects using BIM/Digital Engineering software, systems and data (desirable).
