Our company is looking for a Sustainable Energy Consultant (Buildings) to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver (or manage) building energy modelling and other analyses with the appropriate tools,
  • Provide consultancy support to organisations to develop carbon reduction and GHG emissions reduction strategies;
  • Writing proposals and winning new work as well as building client relationships and delivering work;
  • Assigned as a consultant to a wide variety of areas;
  • Input to new-build projects and masterplans on how to minimise energy demands and seek to achieve net zero performance;
  • Provide consultancy support to organisations (public and private sector) to develop carbon reduction and GHG emissions reduction strategies;
  • Support building energy modelling and other analyses with the appropriate tools,
  • Contribute to the development of energy strategies to support building design teams and energy statements to support planning applications;
  • Delivering high quality, clearly written outputs;
  • Under general supervision, provides analysis on projects. Executes work plans and task definition, participates in data collection;
  • Contributing to a wide range of projects as the work load dictates.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of smart systems/ smart grids;
  • A science, engineering or building-related degree; a building sustainability/energy related MSc is desirable;
  • If not currently chartered, ideally should be working towards chartership with a relevant institution (e.g. CIBSE, Energy Institute, IEMA);
  • Experience of techno-economic modelling of low carbon heat networks;
  • Knowledge of GHG accounting and reporting methodologies;
  • Experience with using GIS tools for spatial mapping of data;
  • Knowledge of new fuels and technologies – e.g. hydrogen;
  • Experience with demand side management and/or energy storage;
  • Experience of stakeholder engagement and stakeholder workshop facilitation;
  • Experience of evidence base development to support changes in regional or national policy and regulations;
  • Have a good understanding of and interest in sustainable development issues as they relate to the built environment;
  • An ability to communicate effectively, be client-facing and able to write concise and clear reports.
