Designer/Product Developer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Designer/Product Developer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Creating accurate specs and technical drawings;
- Working to the critical path;
- Product and design trend research and reporting;
- Managing the prototyping and sampling stages;
- Delivering commercial designs from concept to finished samples preferably in infant apparel, accessories and homeware;
- Working closely with factories on product development;
- Taking product design through the development and sampling process.
Requirements:
- Ability to demonstrate an exceptional level of accuracy in both written correspondence and numeracy;
- Able to be creative and work to a tight brief;
- Ability to manage own workload & good organisational skills and plenty of initiative;
- Print design, graphic design and illustration ability would be an advantage;
- Able to design within commercial targets;
- A good understanding of material sustainability would be an advantage;
- Strong visual communication skills as well as excellent AI and Photoshop proficiency and hand drawing. CAD experience preferable;
- Fabric and product technical understanding;
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word and Creative suite knowledge such as Photoshop, AI and ID;
- Ability to work on own initiative, problem solve and take responsibility for projects. A positive, can-do attitude and excellent team working skills;
- Product design and development across; apparel, accessories and homeware.
