Senior Environment Artist Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Senior Environment Artist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively seek feedback from Lead Artist, and Creative Directors;
- You will be responsible for creating a very high quality of environment art;
- Interpreting the concept & style to craft remarkable & memorable in-game environments;
- Should be able to mentor and work well with others within the team;
- Working as a senior you will benchmark and raise the bar for environment art throughout our products;
- Collaborating with level designers to meld creativity & design into creative gameplay;
- Participate in R&D of new techniques to implement into production pipeline;
- Working closely with the retail production team, Leads and fellow artists to create stunning environments for our mobile game Avakin Life;
- You will be responsible for modelling, texturing, lighting and set up of each scene from start to finish;
- Ensuring that the artistic style of the game is consistently implemented;
- Inspire the environment team & by extension the wider studio;
- Creating high quality environment art;
- Ensure that artistic style is consistent with defined visual style for the game;
- Collaborate and communicate ideas with the design team;
- Creating documents for outsource as well as giving detailed feedback to external artists.
Requirements:
- A proven track record in the delivery of high performance, high quality 3D assets for AAA titles;
- A thorough understanding of all technical aspects of environment creation;
- An outstanding portfolio demonstrating your environment work for AAA titles;
- Experience of working on published console titles;
- Creative nature with strong problem solving skills;
- Able to prioritize and multi-task;
- Ability to work in a team setting, under deadlines and time constraints;
- Proven track record in at least 2 shipped titles (preferably AAA);
- Strong technical background with ability to grasp new programs and systems quickly;
- Excellent compositional skills and all-around artistic expertise and flare;
- Ability to work with a high degree of self-direction and motivation;
- Strong communication and time management skills;
- Eagerness to learn new software tools and technologies;
- Expertise in 3ds Max, Photoshop, or other technologies utilized in the production of game art;
- Passion for Rockstar Games.
