Category Buyer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Category Buyer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- To promote best practice and working relations with internal stakeholders, Inc. supply chain and product portfolio teams;
- Identify and manage surplus/ disposal stock;
- Utilise the CRM system daily to improve accuracy of delivery intake;
- Raising PO’s to Sales Order status;
- Support the delivery of the financial performance of the department, inclusive of current and future sales, margin and service and stock takes;
- Continually review the existing supply chain and make recommendations for improvements on lead times, pricing and minimum order quantities;
- Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate improved costs and terms.
Requirements:
- Project management, Inventory management understanding, Management Systems knowledge (ISO, PDCA, TQM, etc), Global sourcing, New Product Introduction;
- Category management experience – Hydraulics, Electrical & Electronics, Power Products (HVAC, cooling systems) or Castings;
- Budget planning and reporting, Supplier contracts, Practical problem solving, Advanced negotiation techniques, Category management.
