Our company is looking for a Commercial analyst to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Management and reporting of full system P&L including forecasting and explaining variances to plan;
  • Identification of risks and opportunities, support claims with data and suggest necessary actions;
  • Ensure data accuracy and that reports generated to stakeholders are of high quality for analysis and conclusion drawing;
  • Ad-Hoc Reporting and analysis when required;
  • Partnering with the Global Commercial Team on the Global Client Portfolio;
  • Participating and contributing towards cross divisional projects;
  • Formulate future strategic growth plans for the business and your region;
  • Create the promotional calendar to maximise commercial opportunities;
  • Working across departments and clients to understand business questions and provide analysis to answer commercial problems;
  • Presenting commercial reports, figures and key information to the Senior Management team;
  • Ensure key stakeholders receive up to date business trends and statistics;
  • Business partnering with directors in the business;
  • Project Management and reporting of progress to ensure catalogues and rate cards are delivered on time, with clearly documented;
  • Provide similar finance support on the other major planning processes (Strategic Plan, Half-Year Review);
  • Ensuring products sell at competitive but profitable levels.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate pragmatic and creative approach to problem solving;
  • Previous experience in energy, utilities environment preferably but not essential;
  • Must have a high-level of analysis skills and be comfortable manipulated and processing high-volumes of data;
  • LPC is desirable but not essential;
  • Remain consistently professional confident and calm even in challenging situations;
  • Ideally experience using a visualisation tool (Tableau, Power BI, etc.);
  • Advanced Excel experience is also important, including pivots, complex formulae and basic macros;
  • Understanding of / prior experience of subscription based business models;
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA);
  • Good level of education, degree would be advantageous;
  • Able to adapt swiftly in a fast paced, ever changing market;
  • Good working knowledge of budgets and managing forecasts;
  • Strong stakeholder management skills;
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to analyse financial information;
  • You will need to be a strong user of either SAS or SQL (understanding of both would be amazing ).
