Electrical Estimator Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Electrical Estimator to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing tender documentation;
- Review of drawings and carry out electrical take-off;
- Use of Amtech design software favourable;
- Ability to undertaking draft Electrical Design from pre-tender design & build information to create a project estimate and draft drawings;
- Attending Pre tender meetings to talk through estimate and cost breakdown;
- Use of Vixen Causeway Estimating software favourable;
- Plan workload and deliver to deadlines;
- Use of Microsoft Excel;
- Verify Wholesalers/Subcontractors quotes and making sure they meet the requirements of the project;
- Respond to and manage enquiries relating to the above;
- Interpretation of specification/Drawings to project needs;
- Following up sales leads;
- Work closely with the Rail Operations Director to appropriately direct resources and effectively plan for future requirements;
- Dealing with Design and Build Tenders/Estimates;
- Preparing of Tender/Estimate.
Requirements:
- Any training in electrical engineering (desirable);
- Awareness of, or trained on the 18th edition of the Electrical Wiring Regulations – BS7671;
- Awareness of, or trained on BS5839 – Fire detection and fire alarm systems (desirable);
- Working knowledge of SEC Cyper estimating package or similar (desirable);
- Experience building strong customer and consultant relationships;
- At least two years’ experience as an electrical estimator and/or qualified electrician;
- Flexibility to travel between customer and consultant sites;
- Full clean driving licence;
- Excellent numeracy skills;
- Ability to work to deadlines;
- HNC in electrical engineering or NVQ Level 3 or Level 4 in electrotechnical services or similar (desirable);
- Awareness of, or trained on BS5266 – Emergency lighting (desirable);
- Excellent organisational and time management skills;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Experienced Electrical Estimator with experience within the building services industry using estimating software.
