Investment Manager manages overall bank’s investment portfolio. Reviews investment strategy, seeks out new opportunities, and recommends changes in investments to manage risk and generate acceptable rate of return. Being an Investment Manager measures and evaluates return on investment and trends that may impact the portfolio. Requires a bachelor’s degree. Additionally, Investment Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Investment Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Investment Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 – 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Guidance to investment analysts and interns;
  • Full control of the due diligence process;
  • Purchase and divestment of investments/ project rights/ projects;
  • Presentation of new investment proposals to management board;
  • Due Diligence – Sourcing reputable investigative firms to perform comprehensive background checks on potential partners;
  • Reporting directly to the Managing Director on a regular basis;
  • Structure, underwrite and negotiate complex equity-focused Real Estate opportunities;
  • Organizes and implements an asset allocation strategy built around the principles and benchmarks as indicated and agreed upon by CEO/ Principal;
  • Analysing the existing portfolio, highlighting recommended investments, divestments, capital expenditure and diversification opportunities;
  • Financial modelling and projection of performance, profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flows;
  • Sourcing and underwriting new investment opportunities and disposals: Conduct due diligence and financial analysis;
  • effective stakeholder management and relationship building;
  • budgeting, reporting & analysing outcomes / returns;
  • delivering grant & loan investments to various fund requests;
  • Keep up to date with relevant regulatory, product, legislative and technical requirements.

Requirements:

  • Investment Consultant;
  • Intuitive;
  • financial management / commercial planning;
  • Passed the CISI IAD or equivalent RDR compliant qualification;
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to conduct in-depth due diligence;
  • Holder of the CISI Diploma, CISI Masters or equivalent qualification;
  • team work & building skills;
  • Good written and verbal communication skills;
  • You will already have some strong client relationships;
  • You can be based anywhere in the central belt – Glasgow or Edinburgh;
  • Excellent organisational / communication skills to ensure the proactive management of multiple projects and tight deadlines;
  • Experience with financial evaluation and translation of data;
  • You will be fully RDR compliant with CISI Level 6 qualification as a minimum;
  • We would expect the Investment Manager to have a well-informed perspective of the prevailing investment climate and market outlook,
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience with financial valuation and data analysis.
