Junior Accountant

The Junior Accountant ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Assists in maintaining financial records and ensuring that financial transactions are properly recorded. Being a Junior Accountant assists in analyzing current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Compiles financial data to aid more senior accountants in the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. In addition, Junior Accountant requires a bachelor’s degree. May require eligibility to sit for CPA exam. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Being a Junior Accountant works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. Working as a Junior Accountant typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.

Our company is looking for a Junior Accountant to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Enter daily cheques onto the system and take to the bank;
  • Check daily cash takings and prepare for banking;
  • Bookkeeping duties;
  • Cash-book recording and updating;
  • General accounting duties;
  • Take responsibility for petty cash requirements – Foreign & Sterling;
  • Analysing royalty statements;
  • Raising sales invoices relating to various live performances, recording advances & recharges;
  • Assisting with the daily accounting processes, such as accruals, prepayments and reconciliations;
  • Cost management analysis;
  • Assisting with bank reconciliations of various FX currencies and matching with trading account records;
  • Assisting and review variances to budget/forecast and last year;
  • Preparing weekly and monthly group cash flow;
  • Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of accounts;
  • Consolidating Group annual accounts.

Requirements:

  • Good communication skills;
  • Accountancy qualifications are desired;
  • Problem solving;
  • Wants to work in growing a company;
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills;
  • Other languages an advantage;
  • Team minded;
  • Knowledge of various accounting softwares – (Pegasus would be ideal but not essential);
  • Can do attitude;
  • Excellent oral and written English;
  • Not 9-5 but focussed on the work to be completed.
