Our company is looking for a Liability claims handler to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Determine appropriate action for resolution of the case;
- Liaison with the client/policyholder/broker/solicitors;
- Negotiate settlement where appropriate, within agreed authority limits;
- Maintain a proper reserve at all times by regular review;
- Correspond with all parties professionally to pro actively progress the case to conclusion;
- Handle all cases in accordance with the client’s requirements by referral to documented procedures at all times;
- Obtain all necessary evidence and relevant documentation including detailed statements from witnesses and other informative sources;
- Work cooperatively with co-workers and managers to achieve high quality claims handling;
- Complete thorough liability investigations to include obtaining interviews, recorded statements, scene investigation and police reports;
- Assist in training and/or orientation of new employees;
- Evaluate and resolve Fast Track Personal Injury RTA Portal claims, following the MOJ process;
- Take personal responsibility for promoting a ‘can-do’ attitude and demonstrating a proactive claim handling service;
- Gather and evaluate medical data, police reports, repair estimates and other related investigative documents;
- Proactively capture and intervene to reduce overall spend;
- Respond promptly and appropriately to requests from vendors, insurers, claimants, solicitors and internal contacts.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities;
- Previous success with capture and intervention of motor liability claims;
- Excellent organization and analytical skills;
- Fully versed in the pre-accident protocols; court processes and terminology and awareness of the incoming MOJ changes;
- Proven ability to make the right decisions on legal liability; damage assessment and assessing the need for investigation or rehabilitation;
- An understanding of vehicle repair, medical terms and legal concepts;
- A strong team player able to work in an environment of sharing workloads, advice and experience;
- Effective written and verbal communication skills;
- MOJ portal experience;
- Proven experience in an insurance or legal based environment handling third party motor claims and personal injury claims;
- Demonstrated negotiation skills;
- Demonstrated organization and time management skills.
