Management Accountant – Leeds – ACA, CIMA, ACCA Job Description Template

Our company is looking for a Management Accountant – Leeds – ACA, CIMA, ACCA to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Tax compliance and related accounting including the preparation of the VAT returns;
  • Collectively work with company directors and departments;
  • Maintaining contact with external auditors and advisers as needed;
  • Continuous improvement of the quality and depth of financial reporting by close collaboration with the Financial Controller and Finance team members;
  • Prepare and process monthly payroll, including analysis and reconciliations;
  • Assist with the progression and execution of additional and current policies and procedures;
  • Support with compiling of the yearly budgets and projections (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow) and variance analysis thereon;
  • Prepare and manage the accounts and KPI reports and related variance analysis;
  • Assisting and supporting with the preparation of statutory accounts.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of IT packages, in particular Excel and standard accounting packages;
  • Strong academic track record including a qualified professional (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/ATT/CTA);
  • Good understanding of financial controls and the practical application of policies and procedures;
  • Pride in producing high quality, accurate and timely information – high attention to detail;
  • Robust financial accounting skills;
  • Ability to perform duties under pressure including meeting deadlines with methodically managing conflicting priorities;
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, be self-motivated with a positive workload approach, including working independently;
  • Two years’ experience in a corporate organisation;
  • Hands-on and proactive with a positive “can do approach”.
