Operations Finance Analyst Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Operations Finance Analyst to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Collection and validation of surveillance data;
- Calculate and update Operations related costs for customer and product profitability analysis;
- Assisting with year-end audit and statutory disclosures as required;
- Manage the collection and processing of report data from various internal and external sources;
- Provide month end support to the Operations team regarding stock counts and overhead accruals, preparing and posting journals where required;
- Assist in preparing the monthly Operations financial Performance report including commentary on performance;
- Contribute to the delivery of robust monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts for operational functions;
- Validate data through the complete workflow cycle;
- Perform all relevant regular system checks to ensure the integrity of the numbers;
- Analysis and reporting of the Materials Balance;
- Produce the Weekly Labour Report for issue to the Operations team (share this task with the Supply Chain Finance team);
- Manage the accounting for utilities by collating usage via meter readings and calculating the required period end accruals;
- Ad hoc support as required;
- Support the invoice approval flow for the Operations team;
- Costing and activation of products and sub-sets in their Microsoft accounting system.
Requirements:
- Highly organised with the ability to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines;
- IT proficient with intermediate/advanced Excel skills;
- Experience with VBA would be an advantage;
- Academic degree in a numerical discipline;
- Experience working with;
- An understanding of manufacturing would be an advantage;
- Commercially astute;
- Team player with a willingness to assist colleagues;
- Hard working and dedicated;
- Able to work effectively in a fast paced finance department;
- Ability to be pro-active and use own initiative;
- Ambitious with a willingness to succeed;
- ERP systems / Microsoft Dynamics AX desirable but not essential;
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information with good attention to detail;
- Part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA) is desirable but not essential as the ability to add value through strong operational finance analysis is key.
