Our company is looking for a Procurement Officer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining an approved suppliers’ database including annual supplier checks;
  • Develop tender strategies, contract tendering, contract award, contract management and supplier performance management;
  • Contributing to the identification and resolution of procurement risks and issues;
  • Provide analysis on costs and capture and track savings;
  • Identify suitable suppliers for specific projects;
  • Supporting the procurement with consideration to budget, delegations and policy;
  • Track the delivery of project through milestones to completion;
  • Advising stakeholders within the organisation on procurement matters;
  • Run sourcing events;
  • Clarify client requirements and develop specifications;
  • contribute to performance reviews to ensure contract compliance;
  • Ensuring value is added across contracts;
  • Building stakeholder and supplier relationships;
  • Executing tenders from cradle to grave;
  • Overseeing and establishing procurement processes.

Requirements:

  • Membership or working towards membership of MCIPS;
  • Knowledge of current UK and European procurement legislation;
  • Ability to remain calm and cope with the unexpected;
  • Adaptable to change and embrace innovation and creativity;
  • Experience working with stakeholders;
  • Good organisational skills and effective time management;
  • A degree and/or professional qualification relevant to the post;
  • An understanding of public sector compliance rules;
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills;
  • Excellent project management and report writing skills;
  • Negotiation skills at a business level;
  • Willingness to undertake travel;
  • Experience of successfully delivering on multiple projects in a fast paced and complex environment;
  • Experience in continuously developing and improving own delivery to achieve efficiencies and introduce innovation.
