Our company is looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed supplier, spend and contract analysis, reporting and data capture;
  • Build a strong a collaborative partnership with key stakeholders as you look to mitigate risks, add commercial value and provide recommendations;
  • Supporting and advising on internal processes with the wider business, influencing outcome and mitigating risks;
  • Supporting the business on contractual negotiations;
  • Analysing production and procurement lead times to ensure customer requirements can be met;
  • Effectively managing sub-contractors ensuring that supplies meet company output plan;
  • Cradle-to-grave management of the tender process;
  • Continuously seeking measurable improvement opportunities which will contribute towards achieving high standards of operational excellence;
  • Effectively use and disseminate procurement department data, to guide sourcing strategies;
  • Work with category management colleagues to drive supplier performance in terms of; cost, quality and risk;
  • Building relationships with stakeholders to understand their requirements;
  • Sourcing and forming strategic supply base management and handling activities such as financial management and issue resolution;
  • Lead and assist in identifying opportunities for strategic development of the contracts portfolio and savings opportunities across the supply chain;
  • Developing and implementing an effective supplier base and partnerships to create a reliable and long-term source of supply;
  • Engage in market intelligence and supply analysis, to ensure the supply chain remains best in class.

Requirements:

  • IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook;
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with good attention to detail;
  • Contribute to providing high-quality public services across the South-East;
  • Understanding of the political context in which the service operates;
  • Self-starter with strong business acumen and the ability to link business goals and market trends to make sound procurement decisions;
  • A demonstrated capacity for building effective relationships with suppliers and internal networks across all levels of the organization;
  • A strong strategic and analytic approach to procurement with knowledge of Strategic sourcing principles and practice;
  • Knowledge of SAP functions (ERP/MRP) and PC packages (MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel);
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills;
  • Able to organize and handle multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Proven track record of delivering value for money and competently managing both internal and external stakeholder relationships;
  • Good academic background, procurement and business-related qualifications including CIPS preferable but not essential;
  • Be qualified to degree level;
  • Proven “problem-solving” track record within procurement;
  • Demonstrated computer literacy with regards to Afton’s routine applications.
