Our company is looking for a Project Accountant to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of financial accounts and forecasting information;
- Providing analysis and reporting through to the GS EMEA Chief Financial Officer;
- Investigate project financial variances and submit variance reports to key stakeholders;
- Liaising with the Development & Maintenance teams to ensure all Capex related invoices are processed in an accurate and timely manner;
- Ownership of weekly & monthly MI reports;
- Work closely with project teams and challenge where necessary;
- Produce analysis on variances between forecast vs actual cost;
- Support project team when submitting investment requests;
- Act as a point of contact for clients, dealing with non-technical coordination queries and proactively build ongoing relationships;
- All aspects of project accounting including;
- Prepare monthly reporting pack for senior management team;
- Work with the wider finance team to drive continuous improvement;
- Provide regular updates to task order leads regarding spend;
- Lead and support the completion of the statutory accounts;
- Prepare and distribute material for meetings, facilitate discussion, take and distribute minutes and follow up on action.
Requirements:
- Demonstrate experience and success in managing change;
- Fully qualified Accountant covering either ACA, ACCA or CIMA;
- Strong business acumen;
- Advanced Excel skills, particularly in manipulation of data and data analysis;
- Hold, have held or eligible to apply for UK based security clearance;
- Assisting with system integrating and data migration;
- Taking sole charge of the reconciliations project and report weekly into the Group FC;
- The ability to always look to improve current processes;
- The ability to work well under pressure and use own initiative to problem solve;
- Knowledge of SAP Accounting Software;
- Good knowledge and experience in dealing with Fixed Assets and/or Project Accounting;
- Computer Literate – Advanced Excel/systems skills and the ability to use Outlook & Word;
- Minimum of 2 solid years of Project Accounting in an engineering environment, ideally generator based environment;
- Experience of working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standards;
- Improving data management and IT applications.
