Our company is looking for a Qualified Accountant to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of junior members of staff;
  • Statutory accounts preparation for a huge range of clients, some with a significant annual turnover;
  • Provide an ad hoc support and analysis capability to the Finance Manager and Financial Controller as necessary;
  • Source new clients;
  • Assisting in preparation of the annual Budget;
  • Assisting with the co-ordination and preparation for both the internal and statutory audits;
  • Assisting with the preparation of quarterly reporting;
  • Assisting the Director;
  • Work with the wider finance team to provide comprehensive commentary and variance analysis on results against budget and forecasts;
  • Preparation of annual financial statements in accordance with FRS 102;
  • Assisting with maintaining the financial control frameworks and ensuring appropriate awareness and compliance by the respective teams;
  • Reporting to Finance & Operations Director;
  • Tax advise;
  • Managing a small team (currently 2) but will grow through internal growth and aggressive acquisition strategy;
  • Preparing and reviewing regular balance sheet journals, transactions and reconciliations.

Requirements:

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA qualified (or equivalent);
  • Experience in documenting and/or testing financial controls;
  • Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications – excel is a must;
  • Proven ability to produce quality accounts and financial work under pressure and to tight deadlines;
  • Good written and oral communication skills;
  • You will be liaising closely with clients to organise the required fieldwork and you should be able to communicate effectively with clients;
  • This is a hands on and involved role, working directly with the Managing partner to manage and develop a portfolio of key accounts and clients;
  • The role will manage a portfolio of clients, including a number of SME business, which require regular quarterly testing of their accounting systems;
  • You will be liaising with H.M.R.C and other party organisations.
