Our company is looking for a Tax Assistant to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare draft bills for partners;
  • Complete timesheets;
  • Maintain Global Tax compliance calendar;
  • Support the team with ad-hoc tasks;
  • Prepare/update territory summaries in real time;
  • Generate all tax reports in preparation of the tax filings for the regional offices;
  • Ensure proposed tax return submissions are submitted on a timely basis;
  • Collating information for tax returns;
  • Work closely with the tax and compliance accountant to update the regulatory requirements for the Accounts and Billing Teams;
  • Reconciling the tax accounts for each office;
  • Assess the controls periodically and suggest changes in line with changing legislation;
  • Preparation of Self-Assessment tax returns for non-UK resident partners;
  • To undertake the scanning of documentation as and when required;
  • To proactively manage their own personal study to improve their knowledge and technical abilities;
  • To perform tax administrative duties for the office.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work well in a team environment;
  • Well presented with a professional level of communication – both verbal and written;
  • Experience in either accounting or tax is advantageous but not imperative;

  • Ideally worked in the finance team of a Law Firm/Professional Services environment;
  • IT skills – strong working knowledge of MS Excel, other MS products and similar desktop applications. Willingness to learn new systems is essential.
