Youth Staff Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Youth Staff to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Age-appropriate activities that combine skill-building with storytelling, creative arts, music,
- Welcomes and looks after groups of children from various nationalities aged 3 to 12 years;
- Liaises with the entertainment team to organise events/activities for families;
- Ensuring the safety and supervision of all children participating in activities;
- Keeping up the children’s hygiene level by consistently tending to their needs;
- Handles complaints and queries;
- Ensure the playroom is cleaned & organized as per standards established at the end of each shift;
- Promotes and organises children’s activities (games, sport activities, etc.) whilst building trust with their parents;
- Looks after toys, tools and other equipment;
- Ensuring friendly, jovial and positive attitude with children and parents at all times;
- Engages children of all ages, promoting interaction between them.
Requirements:
- Three to five years’ experience working with large groups of youths ages 6 months -17 years;
- Infant and child CPR certification and lifesaving certification from the American Red Cross or similar certifying organization;
- Computer literacy;
- Language skills: English – advanced level – MANDATORY;
- Infant and child CPR certification and life saving certification from the American Red Cross or similar certifying organization preferred;
- Previous referenced experience working with children (e.g. Miniclub in Hotels, Camps, Cruise lines, etc.);
- Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with guests;
- High School certificate and/or any appropriate training and qualification to work directly with children;
- Ability to design creative activities while containing costs;
- Age : at least 21 years old;
- Possess a valid passport and when possible a seaman book copy;
- Ability to speak additional languages such as Spanish, French or German preferred;
- Ability to communicate in English tactfully with guests or parents to mediate, diffuse an/or resolve problems and negotiate resolutions;
- Ability to mediate, diffuse and/or resolve problems and negotiate resolutions;
- Working knowledge of computers, internet access and the ability to navigate within a variety of software packages such as Excel, Word and Power Point.
