IT Administrator Job Description Template

Our company is looking for a IT Administrator to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Setup new computers and user logins and access for new members of ADVANCE staff;
  • Giving staff access to folders by changing permissions on the shared drives or giving access to group mailboxes;
  • Support the IT Director or other senior staff with meeting requests;
  • Market available training courses to employees and provide necessary information as required;
  • Arrange departmental meetings;
  • Site visits as required to resolve IT/connectivity issues;
  • Design, implementation and administration of Office365, AV, Mail and internal Active Directory;
  • SharePoint administration;
  • Testing and deployment of Sorion’s own software products internally and on customer sites;
  • Assist in developing and maintaining resources on the firm’s intranet;
  • Knowledge Management;
  • Configuration of internal and ‘project’ peripheral devices and printers;
  • Installation of internal and ‘project’ PC systems;
  • Use of the Zendesk ‘ticketing’ for allocation and tracking of IT requests;
  • An eye for continuous technological improvement.

Requirements:

  • Good problem solving skills;
  • Previous experience of managing user requests in a ticketing system, prioritising and escalating as required;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Ability to work individually and collaboratively;
  • A good working knowledge of desktop and laptop hardware;
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems and Office suite of applications, including installation and troubleshooting;
  • Previous experience working in a first line technical support role;
  • Previous experience of managing user accounts and groups in Microsoft Active Directory.
