Senior Infrastructure Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Keep all stakeholders and users updated with changes;
- Site appraisals, feasibility studies and pre-application planning advice;
- Take a global view of infrastructure issues for new development and advise clients accordingly;
- Liaise with clients, project teams and local authorities;
- Collaborate with the global team on any Global initiatives and project roll outs;
- Provision new systems, test and roll out software updates, and assist with office moves and relocations;
- Design of roads, drainage, retaining walls, bridges and earthworks;
- Prepare outline and detailed designs of road and drainage infrastructure, junction alterations and new services;
- Manage projects, providing support, mentoring and guidance to less experienced colleagues;
- Bring original thought and challenge to engineering problems;
- Proven reporting and communication skills will be required, together with an ability to work as part of a team;
- Manage and maintain the operational integrity of Morningstar’s security, global voice, and data networks;
- The role will involve some out of hours activity for planned scheduled maintenance and to remediate unplanned major incidents;
- Work closely with the Infrastructure Manager to draft plans and objectives and ensure they are achieved on time and on budget;
- Respond to incidents and alerts and provide out of hours technical support as required.
Requirements:
- An ability to speak clearly, confidently, professionally and convincingly at meetings and on the telephone;
- An ability to work well with others as part of a team;
- Understanding of ITIL would be ideal;
- Good commercial awareness;
- Experience with VMWare, Windows servers (2008,2012 & 2016), Active Directory, IP, WAN, and LAN;
- Experience dealing with adoption agreements for roads and drainage;
- Minimum qualification – degree in Civil Engineering;
- Experience in the use of AutoCAD for drafting design solutions;

- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and routing protocols, QoS, VoIP, BGP, and EIGRP;
- Solid technical knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Virtualisation, Office 365, SQL Server & Powershell;
- Competent use of AutoCAD, Microdrainage, AutoTrack, Civils 3D, PDS sign and line packages as well as Microsoft Office;
- Some familiarity with cloud technologies, ideally Azure;
- At least five years’ experience of Cisco ASA firewall administration experience.
