Senior IT Systems Administrator Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Senior IT Systems Administrator to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- The maintenance and upkeep of the internal systems, including Exchange 2010, Office 365, Active Directory, networks, VMware and Azure;
- You will lead and manage a team and will be technical and hands-on;
- You will be expected to be pro-active in locating and solving issues and aiding others and passing on knowledge to junior members where possible;
- Deal with all query escalations coming through and provide solutions where possible, owning the resolution of each customer query;
- Serve as the technical expert for the team, working with all stakeholders across the business;
- Manage IT Projects with the IT Manager to drive business improvements;
- Stay up to date with technological developments and advancements to provide suggestions for improvement;
- Provide support and training for the wider team;
- Deploy applications and prepare upgrades if existing applications;
- Perform advanced diagnosis for anything not functioning correctly.
Requirements:
- Creating and deploying software packages through SCCM;
- Network Server 2008 / 2012 R2 and Active Directory;
- Symantec Enterprise Vault for email;
- VMware vSphere 6.x maintenance and provisioning;
- Support of Exchange environment (on-prem and O365) / Experience in Exchange 2010;
- Active Directory administration including DC upgrades, GPO creation/modification;
- Experience of SCCM package creation, testing and deployment;
- Network troubleshooting and troubleshooting;
- Server support, build and maintenance (Windows and Linux);
- Supporting staff within a Citrix XenDesktop environment;
- Be able to manage and deploy rollouts;
- Team Technical Escalation Point;
- Must have demonstratable experience leading a team in your current role;
- Have a good technical knowledge of all desktop hardware (workstations, printers, servers, mobile devices, networks etc);
- Possess hands on troubleshooting experience.
