Our company is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to and lead customer meetings where appropriate;
- Maintain, grow and promote relevant technical skills and domain knowledge;
- Contribute to definition/development of Systems Engineering technical strategy;
- Responsible for diagnosis and rectification / management of issues in complex application software;
- DevOps Engineer;
- Deputise for the systems manager;
- Creating, updating and performing systems tests;
- Be the escalation point and senior technical resource for any systems related issues and projects;
- Provide advice and guidance on the application and operation of elementary physical, procedural and technical security controls;
- Participate in continuous improvement analysis and design, as well as the development of systems-based solutions;
- Perform on-site and remote technical support and system administration of various server architecture, and networking architecture;
- Creating and performing systems tests;
- Documenting required technical and configuration data, including schematics, in line with engineering policies and procedures;
- Capturing, understanding and documenting the customer’s system requirements;
- Update power distribution systems architectures in co-operation with aircraft manufacturers.
Requirements:
- Experience of Agile/Scrum/DevOps methodologies;
- Electronic engineering new product development in the context of an aerospace platform would be highly desirable;
- Automation of infrastructure as Code; Ansible, Terraform;
- Knowledge and experience of Engineering Design Reviews;
- Experience of requirements gathering and validation from a customer;
- Build management; GIT, Maven, Jenkins, GitLab, Nexus, JIRA;
- Degree in Engineering, or equivalent knowledge, with significant experience in systems engineering;
- Previous experience in an aviation, automotive or similar embedded systems development environment;
- Good written and verbal communication skills;
- Cloud & container platforms; Azure, AWS, Openstack, Docker and Kubernetes;
- An up-to-date knowledge and understanding of industry needs, as well as the technical demands;
- Excellent knowledge of the technology vendors and their offerings;
- Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline with a professional qualification or substantial experience in related field in lieu of the above;
- Ability to solve complex and difficult system design and engineering problems;
- Knowledge of scripts for automation.
