Electrical Maintenance Technician Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Responding to machine breakdowns;
- Ability to undertake a high level of activity under a variety of conditions and constraints;
- To continue to develop the planned preventative maintenance procedures emphasising on breakdown prevention;
- To operate access platforms including scissor lifts and cherry pickers;
- Ensuring safe working practices are followed at all times;
- High voltage electrical systems;
- To install and/or modify equipment as required;
- Order required parts follow up orders to ensure spare parts are fitted to the appropriate machine on delivery;
- Good oral communication;
- AC/DC motors & drives;
- Keeping detailed maintenance records;
- Process, review, and expedite work orders, modification and equipment drawings, schematics, check sheets, job instructions, and calibrations records;
- Basic PLC fault finding;
- Knowledge of maintenance policies, procedures, and terms;
- Cranes and lifting equipment.
Requirements:
- Ability to undertake a high level of activity under a variety of conditions and constraints;
- Respond effectively and perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly;
- Conversant with the use of machine tools;
- Time served apprenticeship;
- Good organisational and time management skills;
- AC, DC & Servo Drive Experience;
- Knowledge of maintenance policies, procedures and terms;
- Good written and oral communication skills;
- Capable of working unsupervised or within a team;
- PLC experience Faultfinding – Allen Bradley/Mitsubishi and knowledge of systems would be desirable;
- Minimum ONC or City & Guilds level 3 or equivalent (Technical Certificate, etc.);
- Recognised engineering apprenticeship, together with at least 2 years’ experience in a maintenance department of a manufacturing company;
- Knowledge of appropriate office software applications.
