Our company is looking for a Chemistry Teacher to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Chaperone Fall and Spring Academic Travel/Ski and Winter Adventure;
  • Being able to build a good rapport with staff members and children alike;
  • Teach four classes;
  • Be an advisor (which includes advisor meetings + assemblies + required meals + any additional activities);
  • Be available during Family Weekend for parent/teacher conferences;
  • Implementing the Key Stage 3 and 4 curriculum and providing booster sessions where needed to raise standards within the classroom;
  • Be available until 17:00 on Wednesdays for School meetings;
  • Supervise either the test make-up center (Thursday) or serve detention duty (Friday) once per semester or twice per year;
  • Preparing and delivering innovative lessons to create a stimulating and motivating environment for children;
  • Monitoring and evaluating pupil’s progress to attain a high standard of results within GCSES;
  • Arrive trained and current in First Aid and CPR (reimbursed by the School);
  • Provide extra help on a regular basis to students in need;
  • Chaperone additional events (Class Hikes, Christmas Celebration, Prom, etc.; see Attendance section above).

Requirements:

  • Enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the revised English National Curriculum (2014);
  • Experienced and skilled in providing differentiated learning opportunities to support, meet and challenge the needs of all learners is essential;
  • Willing to fully adhere to and support the Christian ethos of the school;
  • Willing to be involved in a wide range of school-related activities;
  • Experience of teaching the Cambridge International Curriculum and IGCSEs;
  • Native-level English speaker or can demonstrate equivalent proficiency;
  • at least 2 years of successful teaching experience,
  • Sound understanding of the assessment requirements for IGCSE and A Level Chemistry;
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a recognised university;
  • Fluent English speaker;
  • a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry or Chemistry related field or Education;
  • Good Knowledge of the UK based curriculum and experience of teaching KS3 to KS5;
  • Qualified Teacher Status qualification is desired but not essential;
  • A recognised teaching qualification, BEd., PGCE, iPGCE or Equivalent;
  • Teaching qualification valid in home country.
