ICT/Computer Science Teacher Job Description Template

Our company is looking for a ICT/Computer Science Teacher to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assessing students’ progress and abilities;
  • Preparing pupils for qualifications and external examinations;
  • Selecting and using a range of different learning resources and equipment, including podcasts and interactive whiteboards;
  • Teaching GCSE Computer Science and GCSE ICT (IT), to pupils between the ages of 11-16 years;
  • Researching new topic areas, maintaining up-to- date subject knowledge, devising and writing new curriculum materials;
  • Planning and preparing high quality teaching and learning for 11-16 ICT & Computing;
  • Managing behaviour in line with school policies;
  • Undergoing regular observations and participating in regular in-service training as part of continuing professional development (CPD);
  • Being responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and/or vulnerable adults;
  • Marking work, giving appropriate feedback and maintaining records of pupils progress and development;
  • To plan and prepare lessons;
  • Developing and sharing resources;
  • Valuing and support students to achieve their full potential;
  • Preparing and delivering lessons to a range of classes of different ages and abilities;
  • Keeping pupils engaged and focused on their learning and development.

Requirements:

  • You must have legal right to work in the UK;
  • You should be aware of the curriculum and be able to deliver it effectively;
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks;
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status);
  • Knowledge of Coding including PYTHON is essential;
  • Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and all employment breaks must be explained;
  • NQTs are welcome to apply;
  • This role is NOT suitable for NQT;
  • You must be willing to attend a registration interview;
  • You should be creative, passionate and dedicated to supporting the learning and development of all the children in the class;
  • You should have a Computing degree with a PGCE / QTS Qualification;
  • Experience in teaching British curriculum;
  • Degree in the subject teaching.
