ICT/Computer Science Teacher Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a ICT/Computer Science Teacher to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Assessing students’ progress and abilities;
- Preparing pupils for qualifications and external examinations;
- Selecting and using a range of different learning resources and equipment, including podcasts and interactive whiteboards;
- Teaching GCSE Computer Science and GCSE ICT (IT), to pupils between the ages of 11-16 years;
- Researching new topic areas, maintaining up-to- date subject knowledge, devising and writing new curriculum materials;
- Planning and preparing high quality teaching and learning for 11-16 ICT & Computing;
- Managing behaviour in line with school policies;
- Undergoing regular observations and participating in regular in-service training as part of continuing professional development (CPD);
- Being responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and/or vulnerable adults;
- Marking work, giving appropriate feedback and maintaining records of pupils progress and development;
- To plan and prepare lessons;
- Developing and sharing resources;
- Valuing and support students to achieve their full potential;
- Preparing and delivering lessons to a range of classes of different ages and abilities;
- Keeping pupils engaged and focused on their learning and development.
Requirements:
- You must have legal right to work in the UK;
- You should be aware of the curriculum and be able to deliver it effectively;
- This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks;
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status);
- Knowledge of Coding including PYTHON is essential;
- Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and all employment breaks must be explained;
- NQTs are welcome to apply;
- This role is NOT suitable for NQT;
- You must be willing to attend a registration interview;
- You should be creative, passionate and dedicated to supporting the learning and development of all the children in the class;
- You should have a Computing degree with a PGCE / QTS Qualification;
- Experience in teaching British curriculum;
- Degree in the subject teaching.
