Primary SEN Teacher Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Primary SEN Teacher to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Fostering a caring atmosphere and showing commitment to the well-being and social and academic progress of each pupil;
- Organizing the work of the teaching assistant;
- Ensuring the creativity and high quality of teaching and learning of the class, assisted by a teaching assistant;
- Acting as Form Teacher of a class consisting of up to 24 pupils;
- Sharing responsibilities for curriculum development, display, performances, trips and organizing some aspects of special events.
Requirements:
- High proficiency in English;
- Up to date knowledge of the national curriculum related to Primary education;
- Work Standards / Quality Orientation;
- Have previous experience working within a SEN environment or have always wanted to;
- Decisive;
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education specialized in Special Education Needs or Learning Support;
- Creativity/ Innovative/takes initiative;
- Planning & Organising Work;
- An understanding of the IB and the key underpinnings of the curriculum frameworks is essential;
- Experience teaching KS1 and KS2 pupils;
- Minimum 2 years’ classroom teaching experience in a mainstream school;
- QTS or extensive teaching experience;
- Successful class room teaching experience;
- Analysis and problem-solving;
- Strong communication skills.
