Reception Teacher Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Reception Teacher to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and producing visual aids and teaching resources;
- Maintain safeguarding of pupils at all times;
- Observations and assessments of children in accordance with the EYFS;
- Liaise closely with parents to share practice and encourage children’s learning and development at home;
- Engage and enthuse pupils;
- Identify struggling pupils and provide effective teaching;
- Set challenging EYFS targets that challenge children’s learning and development and raise attainment;
- Work in close co-operation with support staff to assure that all children are supported in achieving their potential;
- Planning and delivering lessons to support children’s holistic development;
- Liaising with fellow colleagues and parents to get the most out of your pupil’s development;
- Have an in-depth of EYFS framework;
- Building relationships with children and assessing them in relation to the early learning goals;
- Creating a positive learning environment through professionally planned lessons and classroom displays;
- Adhering to the curriculum, including up to date changes in the structure;
- Having control over a whole class and maintaining discipline.
Requirements:
- Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and all employment breaks must be explained;
- Strong classroom pupil support;
- QTS;
- You must have legal right to work in the UK;
- Enhanced DBS on the online update system (or willing to have one processed);
- You must be willing to attend a registration interview;
- Sound EYFS curriculum knowledge;
- 2 years references, 1 being most recent employer;
- Be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and full referencing process;
- Ensure your CV covers the last 10 years of employment history where possible (all employment breaks must be explained);
- QTS / PGCE or equivalent;
- Hold a qualification with, or leading to, UK Qualified Teacher Status (NQTs and overseas qualified teachers are welcome to apply);
- Have legal right to work in the UK;
- Experience with teaching KS1;
- Good knowledge of the national curriculum.
