Secondary Mathematics Teacher Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Secondary Mathematics Teacher to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Liaise with the Deputy Head and with Tutors about any pupils with specific learning needs or giving rise to learning or pastoral concerns;
- Supervise and, so far as is practicable, teach any pupils who are assigned to you by the teacher in charge of cover arrangements;
- ensuring reporting of the students’ progress in this subject is professional and informative with clear targets set;
- Follow guidelines for assessment as set out by the School and keep appropriate records;
- monitoring of and being accountable for student attainment and progress;
- liaising with parents/carers to offer information and guidance;
- Show an active commitment to the wider life of the School, including extra-curricular activities and events;
- Contribute to the creation of a stimulating learning environment around the School;
- Carry out administrative and supervisory duties efficiently and conscientiously;
- ensuring that the departmental resources and equipment are well cared for;
- supporting the wider curriculum and extra curriculum of the school;
- being accountable to the Principal and the Deputy Head for your standards of teaching and learning;
- ensuring the school policies are adhered to and consistently implemented;
- maintaining clear expectations and high standards of professionalism at all times;
- Show commitment to your own professional development and take an active interest in educational debate and development.
Requirements:
- Knowledgeable of the current national curriculum especially in terms of assessment;
- Passionate and has outstanding classroom management;
- Able to form relationships with parents and children alike;
- Driven and enthusiastic, creating an exciting and fun learning environment;
- Able to work as part of a strong, dedicated team;
- Have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship (essential);
- Proven enthusiasm, organisation and flexibility (essential);
- Have some experience teaching some Mathematics (Essential);
- Have a PGCE, Bed, QTS or Naric equivalence (essential).
