Supply Teacher Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Supply Teacher to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- No planning required – covering staff sickness with lesson plans left by the Teacher;
- Liaising with other members of staff;
- Planning, delivering and marking work;
- Helping to create a stimulating and motivating environment for children;
- Have a sensitive and caring nature, whilst communicating effectively with pupils;
- Ability to build rapport with staff and pupils;
- Monitoring and evaluating pupils’ progress to raise pupil attainment;
- A passion for working with, and intellectually developing young people;
- As a member of supply staff you will be required to support the children in your class whilst following their curriculums as closely as possible;
- Sensitivity for dealing with young people in difficult situations;
- Ensuring the behaviour in the classroom is kept under control;
- Providing feedback to the school about progress in the day;
- Leading classes and following planned work scheme;
- Marking the work completed at the end of the day, using school mark schemes;
- Deliver pre-planned lessons to children ages 5 – 11.
Requirements:
- Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and all employment breaks must be explained;
- Have a sensitive and caring nature, whilst communicating effectively with pupils;
- Ability to build rapport with staff and pupils;
- Sensitivity for dealing with young people in difficult situations;
- A passion for working with, and intellectually developing young people;
- Previous teaching experience is desired but not essential depending on trial performance;
- Right to work in the UK;
- Be able to provide two relevant references;
- UK QTS;
- QTS essential;
- Reliable;
- Strong classroom management (Essential);
- Enhanced DBS on the online update system (or willing to have one processed);
- Current DBS (on the update service) or willing to apply for one;
- Great organisational skills.
