Our company is looking for a Commis Chef to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Report any discrepancies or issues that could affect safety, service or the smooth running of the department;
  • Ensure high levels of cleanliness throughout the kitchen;
  • Carrying out the smooth and efficient running of your section;
  • Cook food in a timely manner;
  • Assist colleagues with events as and when required;
  • To utilise and implement all aspects of theFood Safety Policy and HACCP’s;
  • Remain health & safety compliant;
  • Take direction from senior staff;
  • Be aware and comply with Company and statutory requirements;
  • Study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients;
  • Keeps fully up to date with all Food Safety Training;
  • Manage your time effectively to ensure full support of the team in your section;
  • Preparing the mise en place;
  • Help assist in maintaining good stock levels;
  • Ensuring your section is kept clean and tidy.

Requirements:

  • Good verbal and written English;
  • Good knowledge of cooking techniques and styles;
  • A passion for food and the culinary arts;
  • A flexible attitude;
  • NVQ Level 1;
  • Previous experience as a Commis Chef or Apprentice Chef;
  • A passion to learn and a drive to succeed in a culinary/hospitality career;
  • Good grasp of the English language;
  • A great attitude towards your career;
  • Manage your time effectively to ensure full support of the team in your section;
  • Punctual;
  • Food Hygiene Certification;
  • Carrying out the smooth and efficient running of your section;
  • Run an environment that is clean, tidy and organised at all times;
  • Be able to demonstrate good organisational skills.
