Care Assistant Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Care Assistant to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Personal care;
- Helping our residents with personal support and care,
- Food preparation – preparing light meals, snacks and drinks;
- Looking after the physical comfort of patients, for example helping them to wash themselves and emptying bedpans;
- To encourage clients to remain as independent as possible;
- Act as Health Care Assistant which will include staff supervisions;
- Practical support – Making beds, preparing food & Laundry;
- Answering the door and telephone appropriately. Responding accordingly, and passing on messages promptly;
- Assist clients in their adjustment to the environment and with all personal care tasks as required;
- Cooking;
- Food and drink preparation;
- Act as a role model for good care governance practice;
- Paying bills;
- Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own;
- Social calls.
Requirements:
- Certification in practical Moving & Handling course, completed in the last 12 months;
- Ability to work as part of a team and individually;
- You must be able to work weekends;
- Good stamina;
- Care Assistant;
- Reliability is of utmost importance as home care clients are dependent on their care team for every day needs;
- If applicable, care for Residents clothing and rooms as named, and ensure that all clothing is recorded and clearly marked;
- Kindness, empathy and an acute understanding of the challenges facing residents as they come to terms with living in a new care environment;
- Access to the Refer a Friend scheme where you could receive £300;
- Under the supervision and guidance of Senior Staff, report on the well-being of Residents;
- Enhanced Disclosure;
- Read and write and update reports;
- You will need access to a smartphone with internet access to submit your timesheets via our mobile app;
- Excellent organisational skills;
