Our company is looking for a Healthcare Assistant to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with activities of daily living and domestic duties;
  • Help residents to identify and choose their support needs;
  • Enable residents to achieve independence as far as possible in all areas of their life;
  • Turning service users who are required to spend a lot of time in bed, in order to avoid bed sores;
  • Changing sheets and making beds;
  • Supporting daily activities;
  • One to one support;
  • Recording and reporting, completing food and fluid charts, or other daily monitoring records;
  • General care and assistance running the home;
  • Providing personal care following care plans provided by the home;
  • Taking part in, and assisting service users to take part in activities and entertainment;
  • Assisting with the cleaning and tidying of the establishment to help support infection control;
  • Following service users’ care plans at all times;
  • Catheter Care;
  • Personal care.

Requirements:

  • Full-time agency;
  • You must have a good standard of English and be able to communicate effectively;
  • A warm, compassionate and personable nature with the ability to work with patience, tact and understanding;
  • Experience is preferred but not essential;
  • Two work related contact details for referees;
  • Experience of working with clients with complex care needs (advantageous);
  • Able to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice;
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing;
  • Efficient worker who can carry reasonable instructions from other team members;
  • Tracheostomy care;
  • Enhanced Disclosure;
  • Excellent communication skills, written, verbal and listening;
  • Proof of N.I. (N.I. cards, payslip, P45, P60);
  • Reliability is of utmost importance as home care clients are dependent on their care team for every day needs;
  • Catheter care.
