Our company is looking for a live in carer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Providing friendly companionship;
- Helping clients with light housekeeping (cleaning, laundry, cooking);
- Supporting clients with taking their medication;
- Writing daily reports;
- Assisting clients with personal care (getting washed, dressed, toileting);
- Going on outings (grocery shopping, social events, hospital appointments);
- Showering / bathing / toileting tasks. You MUST be happy with personal hygiene duties as this is a big part of the job;
- Supporting in all needs to make the comfortable and safe;
- Assist getting in and out of bed;
- Being a friend, watching tv , chatting and helping with other activities;
- Making meals and drinks;
- Looking after the house, tidying, hoovering, washing up, changing beds and laundry tasks;
- bank account and applying for National Insurance number;
- Helping with medicine tasks.
Requirements:
- Documentation and proof of eligibility to live and work in the UK;
- A driving licence and own transport are highly beneficial;
- Life experience is essential. You need to be empathetic and understanding;
- Confident and calm nature;
- Ideally previous live in care/healthcare experience. Experience of looking after family members will count;
- Good levels of English, both spoken and written;
- A willingness to care and support service users in their day to day lives;
- Trustworthy and caring nature;
- Experience of working with clients with complex care needs (advantageous);
- Catheter care;
- Epilepsy;
- Can commit to regular hours;
- Tracheostomy care;
- Excellent communication skills, written, verbal and listening;
- Spinal Injury.
