Our company is looking for a Registered General Nurse (RGN) to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care for residents including washing, dressing, support with nutrition and hydration;
  • To act as a role model for all staff and to ensure that a consistent high standard of nursing care is provided;
  • Support a learning culture providing skills-based experiential learning to Care Services staff and act as a mentor;
  • Extend clinical competencies and nursing practice to offer comprehensive services, for example venepuncture, IVI therapy, ear syringing and so on;

  • Storage and administration of drugs including controlled drugs;
  • Delegation and supervision of duties to care staff;
  • Ordering of drugs and medical supplies and the safe disposal of unwanteddrugs, in accordance with accepted procedures;
  • Communication with outside Agencies and Medical Practitioners;
  • Stoma care;
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed;
  • Care of wounds;
  • Routine observations and record keeping;
  • To assist with re-assessment of the residents’ needs, and re-evaluation ofcare – adapting and prioritising the planned care appropriately.

Requirements:

  • NMC Registered;
  • Ability to communicate and manage interpersonal relationships, including influencing skills;
  • Kind and caring disposition with a real commitment to delivering the highest level of care at all times;
  • The ability to ensure that residents’ needs, wishes and aspirations are acknowledged and met where possible;
  • An active NMC Registration;
  • A self-motivating and pro-active individual, always wanting to learn and develop themselves in their role;
  • Ability to prioritise workload and be able to work under pressure;
  • Any specialist experience of Palliative / Dementia care welcomed;
  • First and foremost we are looking for a positive and caring nurse who is passionate about working as part of a team to provide quality care;
  • Meet compliance requirements including immunisations, DBS and satisfactory references;
  • RGN with current NMC registration. Would consider applicants who required reaccreditation;
  • Driving licence is desirable, but not essential;
  • Providing high standard of compassionate care;
  • Strong communication skills.
