Senior Care Assistant – Nights Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Senior Care Assistant – Nights to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- To ensure that all night documentation is completed and signed for;
- To ensure the home is safe and secure;
- Interacting with our residents on a personal level;
- Helping our residents with personal support and care,
- Serving meals/drinks and assisted feeding;
- Maintaining care plans;
- Administration and monitoring of medications to residents;
- Leading the team of carers on the shift and provide assistance to the management team;
- Taking effective action to address areas of dissatisfaction or poor performance;
- Managing and contributing the smooth running of the home;
- Assisting with medication and leading and supporting the care team;
- Helping families adjust and assist them where necessary;
- Helping residents with daily tasks, including personal care (washing, cooking, feeding when necessary, changing continence pads, etc);
- Providing hands on care;
- Leading the shift and taking charge of the other care staff.
Requirements:
- Ability to work as part of a team and individually;
- Strong communication skills;
- A minimum of NVQ L2 is essential, along with a willingness to work towards NVQ L3;
- Caring nature;
- Flexibility and be able to adapt to the needs of Residents;
- You may have experience of the following: Care, Care Assistant, Support Worker, and Health Care Assistant;
- Comfortable to act on instructions or work on your own initiative;
- Demonstrate excellent leadership qualities;
- Be friendly, kind, honest, reassuring and an effective communicator;
- Hold an NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care (or be willing to work towards).
